Clerk Pam Childers fired off an angry round of emails this afternoon, directed at me.
She is angry that I told the truth in this blog and dang-it---she doesn't like that.
After I was completely exonerated of the ridiculous "crimes" the D2 commissioner and his secretary had baselessly and inaccurately accused me of, I requested the proof of the vindication so I could publish it.
The clerk could have (and should have) sent it immediately.
It was the right thing to do.
Nope--she instead wanted me to twist in the wind and wait through the long holiday weekend to get it the following Tuesday.
Thankfully------The State Attorney's Office provided the document that same Friday afternoon (just like Pam could have and should have done) so I could publish it that Friday Afternoon.
Pam didn't like the fact that I published the truth. The truth is she and her attorney would not release it Friday--telling our attorney they "couldn't" release it. Which is/was a garbage, BS Lie. They didn't want me to have a win going into the weekend so they withheld this one document they could have easily released.
When they lie, I tell the truth.
Pam didn't like that........so she dumped this garbage email into my inbox late this afternoon:
"Commissioner Bergosh,
It was brought to my attention last week that you have made
some false, defamatory and damaging statements on your blog about abut me as
the Clerk and my General Counsel Codey Leigh as it relates to the Grand Jury
and your request for information. I thought about asking you about this
while at our most recent Board of County Commission meetings but thought I
would give you the opportunity to address this via email.
PAM CHILDERS
Clerk of the Circuit
Court & Comptroller
First Judicial Circuit, Escambia County"
To which I simply replied:
To which She came back and said.....
"To state “YOU requested and I refused” is a blatant lie and
you know it. So the County Attorney requested it on your behalf, an email
sent and received Friday afternoon of Memorial Day. Proper procedures
were followed and the document was released Tuesday morning following the
Monday holiday…. this is within 8 business hours. This is a typical
turnaround time for a court document due to statutes/court rules that must be
followed, not to mention this type of document is not electronic but is a lock
and key situation. The request made had information appended to it that
was not consistent with the document that we had in our files.
Once protocols were followed as to grand juror names, County
Attorney Rogers was given the document…and she thanked us for it. There
was no emergency nor a request on your behalf.
To which I replied (and recieved NO RESPONSE.....)
"I requested it through the attorney, not a lie. It is
a fact of reality.
My suggestion is you file an official complaint. Playing Pam’s game is more than appropriate.

ReplyDelete11:20--Agreed--but it won't happen. They took their killshot and missed, Pam Childers, Mike Kohler, and their candidate they convinced to run, Mike's secretary Steve Stroberger. Fired the shot and it missed and now they have to deal with me. "Leslie Gore" your question is inane and ridiculous. But let me humor you with this brief, factual response. I don't hate anyone--I strongly dislike vindictive, petty people of both genders. And I especially despise folks who misuse their office for their personal gain or for the gain of another. Sounds like something in statutes, doesn't it? (Hint, it is, in the Ethics statutes) So yes, when the clerk of the court at a public, fundraising event in mid-April for candidates she is running against me divulges the precise date of a meeting of the Escambia County Grand Jury, the SUBJECT of the Grand Jury---and then, get this---she tells people this publicly along with saying "Look for these Escambia County Commissioner to be INDICTED" on the date she gave this group publicly. This revelation of secret grand jury information dissemination publicly at a fundraiser at Gene Valentino's house has been reported back by multiple individuals that were there and have unimpeachable character and would not lie. They, too, were astonished by her pronouncements...... That is a violation of multiple oaths and statutes, the Grand Jury meeting dates and times are secret, as are the subjects of such grand jury hearings and meetings--for obvious reasons. Not even the JUDGE knows what is coming. So how did Pam know this---and why in the world would she state these things publicly and opine on the outcomes??????? Completely inappropriate, outrageous, and reprehensible behavior. Was she trying to put her thumb on the scale and apply pressure on this grand jury--hoping they would return a true bill? Was she doing this to attempt to take Jeff Bergosh off the ballot (uh, YES--she Mike and Steve). She was attempting to benefit another with information she only had due to her position 112.313(8) and it is frankly information SHE even should not have been privy to--only her staff that works with the grand jury and the prosecutor. I wonder what the Ethics Commission will say about that? She's vindictive because she is actually----get this one---walking door to door in the neighborhoods of D1 for her candidate she's running against me, Steve Stroberger. It benefits her if she has a friendly, compliant county commission. She's using insider information on the grand jury to do it. But she is so far 0-2, as Barry and May were re-elected. She'll be 0-4 once Bender and I win re-election. So yes, that and the fact that she possesses a copy of my unredacted iphone backup unlawfully and without authorization and has admitted this in the presence of others at the SAO and even shopped it around to folks to get them to run against me------this is the sign of a really vindictive person. I love women, I dislike vindicte People. Now, go enjoy a pleasant and Happy Father's day!
ReplyDeleteI agree about the vindictive behavior Commissioner Bergosh. I first started following local politics in 2016 when you were running. I came across the facebook hate chat site when there were only a few members and they were running you down about signs then. It was mentioned on NorthEscambia which also has a penchant for stirring up conflict via comments from the negative crowd. Unfortunately there are many that don't know the hate site is a propaganda site, especially the ones who came in later.

Although all the ethics challenges and lawsuits are off putting I realize you have to fight back.
Sounds like Childers' misused her position though. The epitome of using public office information only available for their own advantage is textbook. I don't think I'll vote for her husband either.

He probably pressured Siders. I'm sure Bear getting his PMs stung so he tried to return the favor. Unfortunately you let your guard down by being appreciative of staff publicly.
I think Barry has a challenger still. Probably has no experience but the growth in D5 and the 401a fiasco not a good look. She did prevail. I didn't see a real problem with it. Same contribution and Elected official's usually don't make a career out of public office.
Lot of low info voters who believe someone who seems to be knowledgeable and people will follow the group.
I know it's a challenge to be in public office with all the vindictiveness and spin.
People forgot their manners and respect for our system of government and are too quick to be on the negative bandwagon.
I appreciate what you have done over the years and hope you prevail in the election.

Childers comes across as high and mighty.. I thought it was funny she said she doesn't follow blogs and newspapers (Rick) and the Lego Wonder Woman must have hurt her ego.
There are nuances in the game of politics.
I know I'm here commenting but I think if at the beginning back in 2014 if the technology policy to stay off social media for commissioner's had been followed, we wouldn't have near the conflict. And lawsuits.
I know the Bear family wasn't going to let Doug's misuse of office to be a bully go unchecked.

I find the lawsuits interesting just simple as cerebral stimulation and a chance to learn something but all in all it really complicates government.
It's on the national level also though.We are a republicbased on laws, so I guess that has become part of the equation.
I long for a simpler time when we called each other by titles and showed more respect and empathy for the challenges of governing and getting work done.
Sounds like she should be removed from office. The person in charge of records publicly misusing her position with witnesses is simply unethical behavior on full display.
