Classic "Whistle-blower Retaliation??"

Allowing someone to finally quit by not accepting his "letter rescinding his resignation", on his  THIRD ATTEMPT to do so, is NOT "Classic Whistle-blower Retaliation"

Just when I thought this entire episode with our on-again, off-again fire chief could get no stranger.....now I see ridiculous claims in the media that this episode is "Classic Whistle-blower Retaliation"

What??

Absolute nonsensical rubbish.  Just Garbage.

Look, when someone has tried to quit THREE times and been talked out of it again and again, and finally when this person quits then changes his mind again------ and his final letter rescinding his 3rd resignation is NOT ACCEPTED---newsflash--that ain't "Classic Whistle-blower Retaliation."

To even countenance such a ridiculous assertion is crazy.

So just to be clear...classic whistleblower retaliation involves someone that is invested in a job that brings forward an allegation of wrongdoing and is subsequently hit with an adverse employment action.  That is "classic whistleblower retaliation"--and even a third-grader knows this.

This issue is not that issue--understand?

This is Amy Lovoy exercising her duty as administrator in deciding not to accept a change of heart from an employee on the third time he has changed his mind.

This is Amy Lovoy making the proper and good decision on this matter, nothing more and nothing less.

I have nothing personally against Rusty Nail.  When he submitted his resignation earlier this month I reached out to him based upon NUMEROUS constituent contacts I received, and I asked him to consider staying.  I never heard back, so I assumed he had made his choice and was going to pursue other opportunities and that this job was not a good fit.  No problem, no hard feelings, and good luck to him in the future.

But we need solid leadership right here, right now, more than ever to address a massive (and growing) leadership vacuum in Escambia County.  We need commitment.

Now more than ever before, we need folks that are steadfast, focused, strong, resolute and solidly-centered on Escambia County 100%.

  1. Bad for Escambia when a social media site has been co opted by narcissist politician that has an owner with social emotional agnosia.

Best thing to do is turn them off, go forward, and hope for the best.

Please look at this. I think the county ethics code should be revised and adhered to.

    Don't worry about someone complaining.

#BDSISREAL (Bergosh derangement syndrome is real)

From Page Nine. I bring this up because one of the Escambia BOCC has been operating from an unethical standpoint and the Board has allowed it too long. It is toxic to the county.

I know where the comment "whistle blower retaliation" is coming from and where it is published.

Escambia citizens deserve better. It was not remedied at the ballot box so other steps need to be implemented.

I understand your insight in the reading of the room and your other commissioners and the assembled tiger teams at the meeting during the non interference ordinance item. Some things may not be known. Also no one that lives in a glass house wants to throw stones (unless they can't see themselves as a problem)

I hope you all use this as an opportunity to improve.

" Some of the rules on the list included, represent the county as a whole and maintain a professional image, show respect for each other and look for honorable intent, seek meaningful compromise, resolve issues directly and privately, and defer action when more information is needed. The Code of Ethics adopted by the board reaffirmed best practices such as putting loyalty to the county as a whole above personal interest, individuals, districts and particular groups; full disclosure through the Freedom of Information Act; and clarifying the difference between personal opinion and board decisions when responding to the media"

Also in my opinion the Social media policy should be revised rather than ignored. To just ignore from a position of leadership sets a poor example.

  4. So if Rusty Nail was named Acting Public Safety Director in August 2018. How can FF Union try to lay blame on Weaver? Wasn't Nail basically put in charge?

  5. Surrounding this fiasco where the public safety department blew itself up on their own then try to force BOCC's hand, using underhillian tactics and the PNJ, appeal to emotion logic--and so on please note--

There are grants the fire department can seek for equipment from the federal government through FEMA for equipment.

Your county ordinances clearly state emergency procurements are done during times like a declared "state of emergency"

Note some aren't buying into the fake political rhetoric from Underhill to message he is all in it for public safety. We've already seen the hypocrisy with him and the budget in prior years.

I think the software IA may run into some snags, but what you need to be wary of is with his type, if you try to expose him he will come back harder and deeper and scorch the earth on which we stand. Don't put it past him using the legal system against the county he works for. (case in point Access #4)

We understand the need to protect the image of the county and to declare the emergency personnel appreciation week is appropriate. Of course the PNJ and general public can't see the underlying schemes behind all this and political moves with in the county governance.

Also a photo of a fire truck with the open hood, may or may not be valid. Watch all the commenters assume it's really broken down. Is there a log of this, did they have to be towed? (firefighter page)

Thank you for your steady hand during the budget cycle. It's like chum cast upon the waters on a fishing trip, isn't it.

Everyone didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday.

    Hold my beer..
