On Real News with Rick Outzen Tomorrow Morning at 7:10 AM

I've been invited to apperar on Monday's Real News with Rick Outzen radio show at 7:10.

I've been invited to appear on Monday morning's "Real News with Rick Outzen" show on the area's number one, most informative, local, trusted and highly respected news radio station AM 1370 WCOA.

Rick's show, which is the area's top rated morning drive news program, treats the listeners as adults and lets his guests take the appropriate time necessary to explain positions, initiatives, votes, and other current actions/events.  Other area show hosts rush the guests, interrupt them, then take inordinate amounts of time to speak down to listeners in obnoxious attempts at "explaining."  It's off-putting and doesn't work.

Rick's show, by contrast, does work.  That's why he is #1 in the timeslot.

Tomorrow we will discuss last week's special budget meeting, the Committee of the Whole, Opioids and the new county initiative to combat our overdose issue(s) and more than likely the board's decision to purchase a brand new aerial platform for ECFR--out of cycle and at a significant cost savings to the taxpayers.

It should be a good conversation.  Once Rick publishes the podcast, I will link it here.

  1. Ah Jeff did I hurt your feelings? You took down all the comments LOL. It’s okay for you to insult but you can’t take it?

  2. Well your #1 time slot guys has about 60% less air time than the “other guy”. Additionally maybe the “other guy” asks you hard questions instead letting you drone on like Your guy.

  3. Nope. Outzen beats Tallman MCKay because he has better quality programming and talent---not because of any question a radio host may/may not ask. You think he asks tough questions? go dig up the podcast with Doug Underhill from about 1 year ago that featured an interview the day after multiple state level ethics charges were sustained by an investigation against Doug. Tallman played softball soft toss with his boy Doug, and in a 10 minute interview where Doug "droned-on and on" only 30 seconds or so centered on the important ethics issue--the balance was a ode to Doug an his reflections on his years of public service, etc.. It was fanboy rubbish, like a lot we get from Tallman McKay. That's why he is not a leader in the morning drive market. Nope, anonymous, it is all about which show is better and more relevant to listeners and nothing else. Occam's Razor.

    1. Please post the data that shows Outzen has more listeners in that time slot or is it more your opinion than facts like usual

  4. @6:14 you just got owned. LOL

Rick is OK..Nice guy in real life too.. In fairness though, his content is mostly advertorials.. I have not seen any heavy mustard reporting from IN in recent times. He has fanboy segments also, e.g. "how you feelin' Alex". His podcasts are still better though, even with all that.

    1. Bloviating Bergosh doesn’t own anyone. All his opinion that he frequently confuses with facts

  5. Rick lets people talk without him filtering them and taking lines out of context in his podcasts.

He has a harrowing report from the perspective of a woman who went to the SOS camp. It's hard to tell who funds what. Blurred lines of responsibility and funding and too many 501cs.. what a mess.

Just me but if I found myself in a bad domestic situation rather than thinking the grass would be greener running to a shelter, it may yet again be another lesson in personable responsibility. Call the law, file an injunction and stay in your own home. Lock and loaded with cameras. Don't put up with that. Or plan an exit strategy without emotion.

There all seldom knights in shining armor for the damsels in distress and people areout there to make money off of bad situations.

The city needed the I10 camp to be cleared for a skate park. They weren't setting up utopia freebie ride camp.

If those weren't state sanctioned and in good order, you can see why maybe one would commit a crime to get the cushy three hots and a cot. Try to go to jail.

It's a mess. I know you have 4 mil $ to spend, in a certain time frame but why get in the middle of that cluster?

Fund affordable housing, get it managed correctly in the private sector, avoid a lawsuit and state investigation and ACLU issues.

I think you are taking this in also.

Might want to be seeing how the federal HUD money is spent. Might want to spend it --not on tennis courts.
