On WCOA's Real News with Rick Outzen

I was a guest on the area's #1 morning drive radio program, "Real News with Rick Outzen" yesterday morning.

We talked about last week's meeting and the important takeaways from the Thursday meeting.

In particular, we discussed the jail and the surprise turn of events surrounding Doug Underhill's complete reversal on the county's newly passed resign to run ordinance (Underhill went from staunch disapproval and vocal opposition to such an ordinance to actually voting to approve and making the motion to approve this ordinance.

This flip flop by Underhill has led to some significant consternation and infighting on at least one Facebook chat site.

Meanwhile, many of us simply believe he lost his place on the agenda and made the motion and voted for the ordinance because he was confused or didn't know at the time what it was he was moving and voting for.

Regardless, it happend.  And, if it was by accident due to confusion, such an admission would never come from Underhill, so far as I can tell.

It was a good conversation--Listen to the Podcast here

Unprovoked ad-hominem attacks will not be tolerated. Too bad you don’t practice this yourself

Anonymous: No ad hominem toward anyone was written in that post. I don’t know what you are talking about—all I did was post the facts: Fact, Doug railed against this resign to run ordinance—along with his buddy on AM 1620 and a handful of others on the chat sites. Fact 2: even with his vituperative disdain for the resign to run ordinance, he nevertheless made the motion for this ordinance’s approval then subsequently voted for this measure which passed 5-0 unanimously. Fact 3: unless you believe he suddenly saw the light and did a flip flop of his months long opposition to this rule— yeah, I think he got confused and made the motion and vote unwittingly—not realizing what he voted to support was the very thing he previously and stridently railed against. Occam’s Razor: the simplest explanation for something puzzling is typically the right explanation. He lost his place then realized it after but rather than admit that, he’s selling the idea he sid it knowingly. I’m not buying it— but really, who cares. It happened. He can explain it any way he wants to…….

I'm sure it was someone elses' fault /s. I laughed when I saw his defacto press secretary questioning him about it on the propaganda facebook page. 🤣

I just do not understand other people who trust a single word he says. I saw right through him after watching what he typed on that page then what he did and said in meetings.

Is there really any reason to discuss on radio why Underhill may or may not have voted for something. Sounds like pure speculation. And yes you have made plenty of ad-hominem attacks against individuals. There could have been a room full of citizens from the "chat site" speaking out against the ordinance and just out of spite you would have pushed for it's passage. Tick-tock, tick-tock. Election time is coming.

You made it clear at one of the BOCC meetings why you supported the resign to run ordinance. You don't want county employees running against you or the others. This had nothing to do with employees campaigning on county time. You said it. It was recorded. And now it's out there on YouTube forever.
