Sunday Afternoon Campaign Warm Up for Congressmen Chip Roy and Matt Gaetz

Congressman Chip Roy (R) TX joined Congressman Matt Gaetz (R) FL yesterday afternoon in downtown Pensacola for an early voting kickoff event/campaign rally.

Well attended, the event featured multiple speakers warming-up for the two Congressmen--including State Representative Michelle Salzman, Former Senate President Don Gaetz, and myself.

It was truly a fun, energy infused opportunity to tackle some fairly red-meat national Republican Issues--which I keep up on ----  so I was very pleased I got the invite to launch on some of the national stuff.

The congressmen both implored the audience to get out and vote early--they also challenged the audience to keep a close watch on some of the moves in other parts of the country to allow for illegal aliens to vote in our elections. They both also talked about their efforts to re-work the military to be lethal, survivable, capable, less-woke, and used sparingly--as they also warned about the "swampy" lobbyists and others that are driving military spending that isn't necessarily aligned with what is best for our military--or for our country.  All of these are real concerns, and these gentlemen drove the point home with emphasis--- much to the delight of the crowd!

You can see the warm ups and the comments from the Congressmen here.

BLECH and BLECH.

Can't stand your taste in congress critters. Still love what you accomplish on a local level.

MEL, you agree with his policies, but not the politicians he hangs around with that will perpetuate those policies lol 😂 You can always tell a man’s morals by the people he hangs around with!!!

cRazY cOdY, I absolutely agree with his local policies nearly across the board, with a couple of key exceptions being solutions for the homeless and the continuing horrendous environmental impact of IP. I don't agree with a large camp set clear out from town; I don't believe IP or ECUA's schtick on their "remediation" of toxins and don't trust the water testing that has been conducted in Perdido Bay. That said, although we are firmly opposed on those local issues, Bergosh will never refuse to listen to what I or others have to say about it. It's not a dead end conversation, as it is with so many other public officials.

The idea that Matt Gaetz, a US congressional rep, and his Texan side piece of the moment Chip Roy are "perpetuating" local policies is so stunningly ignorant it barely merits a response. Suffice to say neither of the two of them do anything, period, but shuck and jive for the worst culture war politics in the country. Ask a vet struggling to get care over at the VA, or a health care worker there struggling to provide it, how invested Gaetz is in local "policies." Don't bother to ask Chip Roy anything, as he's a flash in the pan who will be replaced quickly enough by the next steaming pile of populist dog crap.

What does that have to do with how a commissioner manages things locally, and what he prioritizes and, more important, is able to effect? Nothing. If a person in this area who detests the national and state republican platform refused to work with area republicans, they wouldn't work with anybody. And if every local elected official was a creature of that whack job Republican Executive Committee like Stroberger is, that would be my choice.

Well, no, actually it wouldn't. If the Pensacola area were run by rabid, damaged Matt Gaetz wannabes the likes of Kohler and Stroberger, my choice would be to move. Thankfully that ain't gonna happen any time soon.
