I'll Be On 1370 WCOA's "Real News with Rick Outzen" This Morning at 7:00

I'll be on the area's #1 source for accurate, insightful, and reliable morning-drive news talk--"Real News with Rick Outzen" on 1370 WCOA

I've been asked to appear as the lead off guest later this morning on the area's best, most listened-to, most trusted morning-drive talk radio source for news and information about what's happening in our area--"Real News with Rick Outzen" on 1370 WCOA.

We didn't have a BCC meeting last week, nor will we have one this week--but there is still lots to talk about:

--Medical Examiner's office Move Request

--The Pensacola Beach Tornado Aftermath

--Upcoming Budget Hearings

--American Magic Deal at the Port (in this Morning's Paper)

--Last Week's Coffee with Dr. Rick Harper

--Upcoming changes in the D1 Office Staffing

--The effort at Incorporation of Perdido

--Upcoming Perdido Town Hall

--Latest on OLF 8 Sale and Development

--Sheriff's Department hosting Nationwide K-9 Challenge next March--utilizing 10 Acres of OLF 8 for a part of the competition

...plus whatever Rick wants to discuss.

Listen in live, or catch the podcast here once it is published.

Regarding OLF8, I really hope, that you and the other county commissioners consider a monotony clause for DR Horton. No more than 20 houses of the same design and scattered through the community. This is what the do in Wellington , FL to encourage many developers to come in and make a neighborhood have character and not simply the same design. I also hope that you listen to the residents of beulah, like me, and think of us and abide by the master plan and design code by DPZ. I moved here because of navy federal and was recruited hard based on what Beulah was going to become with this master plan. I just ask that for me, and others in the beulah community, consider that the master plan we have should be honored and the design code should not be altered. The market plan baseline, with the sun setting flex phase agreements, I think are a wonderful thing. If no commerce is desired after 5, 10, or 15 years, this is a wonderful thing that retracts back to what the market wants and potentially more residential, with one block held for perpetuity. I think regulating plan 4 after 15 years is something that could be considered for the 280 acres that DR Horton desires. I wish you could bring in 68 ventures, look at what they’ve done in Baldwin county Alabama. They also made great points about the triumph grant. Let’s re market the property for 280 acres! Let’s have a real long term view. My fear is dr Horton makes another monotonous sun division and seeks the lowest and worst use, when really you have the potential for an award winning new urbanist community, that folks like me and your largest employer in the county want too!
