Sorrento Road Improvements Coming--BIG FDOT Project Commencing this December

At last week's meeting of the Florida/Alabama Transportation Planning Organization, some fairly significant news was shared with the group assembled in Gulf Breeze.

A long awaited project to resurface the state's Sorrento Road from Bauer Road Eastward to Blue Angel Parkway is fully designed, funded, and will be let to a contract this December.

Currently--this roadway is littered with potholes and uneven pavement.  It has also been the scene of numerous fatal accidents over the last several years.

This project will resurface the road, add paved shoulders, and other improvements.  The larger project to 4-lane this roadway is moving up the priority list---from #18 (where it lingered under a former commissioner) to now being #6 under new district leadership.

Look for much more on this roadway-but in the meantime--take a look at the project details, below.

What about the extension of Longleaf over to hwy 29. Has this been completely shelved? Even if its only 3 lanes that's better than going up Kemp rd to Rolling Hills to Wingfoot to the crazy S turns onto Diamond Dairy. Talk about no shoulders and pot holes, Try driving that 5 days a week.

Where is the longing over due traffic light on Blue Angel at Stoddard/Coral Creek/Liberty Church ? It is pathetic this has Where is the longing over due traffic light on Blue Angel at Stoddard/Coral Creek/Liberty Church ? It is patheticnot been completed. Not to mention sidewalks on both sides of Blue Angel between Target/Walmart and Hwy 98. So many people that live off Blue Angel walk to and from work between there. Now that they are adding Publix, Whataburger and Wawa's there will be even more people walking. They may not be on the higher paying side of county taxes, but they keep the places you eat and shop at running. They deserve a safe way to get to work !

It's great under your leadership this was moved up the priority list. Underhill let it languish.

As far as hate watch propaganda site. Note they don't correct the hatemongers when someone complains about this. Truly a dangerous propaganda page.
