Wake up Call for Wednesday: A Conversation with InWeekly Publisher Rick Outzen

Today on the wake-up call live on WPNN 103.7 we welcomed to the show Rick Outzen, publisher of InWeekly and Rick’s Blog.  Today Rick discussed his current edition coming out this morning at 11:00AM featuring a story on local attorney Mike Papantonio.  Papantonio is an author in addition to his legendary work in law in Pensacola.  Rick’s paper today will feature excerpts from Papantonio’s latest novel.  Rick and I also discussed local topics, the red light cameras in downtown, OLF 8, and board dynamics among the newly constituted Escambia BCC.

In addition to this, we discussed:

-local news—ECT giving micro grants out to help kids, the developer who was arrested for breaking environmental laws had ignored multiple warnings to get into compliance, a Walton County man who won a MAJOR free-speech case, new rules for Canadian snow birds coming to Florida will be unveiled soon

-New rules for helicopters operating too close to Reagan National Airport

-A cease fire has been negotiated and has been accepted by Ukraine

-1/2 of the staff at Dept. of Education has been fired

-Latest on the missing college student in Dominican Republic

-House passes clean continuing resolution to prevent a government shut down

--and much more
