Guidelines

I am one member of a five person board. The opinions I express on this forum are mine only, and do not necessarily reflect the views or opinions of the Escambia County Staff, Administrators, Employees, or anyone else associated with Escambia County Florida. I am interested in establishing this blog as a means of additional transparency to the public, outreach to the community, and information dissemination to all who choose to look. Feedback is welcome, but because public participation is equally encouraged, appropriate language and decorum is mandatory. Although this is not my campaign site for re-election--sometimes campaign related information will be discussed, therefore in an abundance of caution I add the following : Political Advertisement Paid for and Approved by Jeff Bergosh, Republican, for Escambia County Commissioner District 1

Movement Begins for Revocation of Certification of Operational Unit of Amalgamated Transit Union in Escambia County

I received the below copy of a petition filed with the Florida Public Employees Relations Commission (PERC) over the weekend.  I was somewhat surprised to see it, so I spoke with our attorney about it.  Apparently, there is a movement afoot by a portion of membership of this union to get out from under representation by ATU.  I'm told this does NOT include the ECAT employees -but rather just the other categories of ATU employees as listed on this petition.  It appears, from the petition filed with PERC, as if 90 of the 215 employees currently represented (nearly 42% of the membership) have signed statements of interest signaling that they "no longer desire to be represented for purposes of collective bargaining by the certified bargaining agent."   See the petition pictured, below.

They will be bringing the public safety political football into play.. AGAIN

Ignoring the fact we just came through Pandemic mode.. They are ready with the flamethrowers.. blamethrowers...

look at the 36 reviews on Indeed for Escambia Paramedic. See a trend? newest review

"They don't care about you at Escambia county jail. the new director pitches fits and changes policy to spite you. Administration has done nothing to help. The pay and flexibility is poor. Overall, everyone is leaving. You deserve better than this."

see a common denominator or two..or three ?

this stands out

"the new director pitches fits and changes policy to spite you"

"Administration has done nothing to help."

"The pay and flexibility is poor"
"Overall, everyone is leaving."

Quote from Underhill on ECW.. Just thought it ironic in the light his fan club is planning to show up June 3 to the BCC meeting.. I see the tuition reimbursement plan on the agenda.

He pretends he is the champion and the Fab Four are the bad guys.. It is so detrimental to good government. I've never seen him put on the agenda to raise public safety pay but blows smoke on facebook, yet he let this one slide a while back..

In his own words: about employee pay :

"Douglas Underhill
..... We cannot afford to pay more than the market demands for labor. We cannot keep giving 3% pay raises every year. Not all trades or skills increase in value every year. "3% pay raises across the board" is a pure socialist concept."

Of course reading over the upcoming court cases reveals much info-- it's hard to overcome that the training department was passing out AHA certs apparently, plus next dealing with COVID. It is disappointing because I'm sure were probably good people but went along withit, a pencil fib here and there but it really is a big deal legally.

Hope you get that department back on its feet and offer the training for employees. It is a benefit to get those CPR certs in house. You just have to make sure the instructors have dotted the I's and crossed the T's to be qualified to instruct.

so I guess DU still thinks it's ok to leak info by his dissent on the vote. Lots of tongue wagging on the ad on.

I also expect to still be anonymous, because people dox and call and intimidate...

I wish Barry would have not beat around the bush..

but that's him..no drama.

Barry brought it the board for discussion. Underhand was wrong to disregard and disrespect the process by trying to play things out in the media and social media ahead of time. Barry took a political hit but he did bring it to light about the 401a. . Your questions were good also. Excess drama and conflict are dysfunctional and time wasters. I have respect for Barry even more so.

So now Underhill posts on ECW that Barry was lying through his teeth. I don't like Underhill at all.

I don't think Alex Ardduini should be sharing Commissioner Barry's retirement election form on facebook and I think an investigation should be followed up on who he got the form from and an ethics complaint filed, but that's up to Barry to do. I'm not on the same bandwagon as the gadfly jackles lathered on this issue, however it is not my battle to fight but when the real truth comes out, I hope to see Underhill removed from his position for continuing this type of behavior.

Seeing Commissioner Barry's personal info posted online is WRONG https://www.dms.myflorida.com/workforce_operations/retirement/public_records/public_records_exemptions

The perpetrators should be held to standards. That is not right.

Public Records Exemptions

Records exempt from public records disclosure include:

Lists of retirees' names or addresses.
Social Security numbers of current and former members.
Birth certificates and cause of death on death certificates.
Medical information (only released if the member has provided a release).
All personal identifying information regarding a participant in the FRS Investment Plan.
Information regarding complaints of misconduct filed with an agency against an employee.
Information identifying undercover personnel with any law enforcement agency.
Home and mailing addresses, all personal telephone numbers and dates of birth for members employed in the positions listed below, if a written request for confidentiality is submitted to the Division of Retirement. A request can be submitted by a member, the employer on a member’s behalf or a qualifying spouse or child (see below).

Underweinnie needs to have their feet held to the fire

So if Arduini is posting Barry's retirement election form, who gave it to him but on the other hand did Barry have everybody's retirement election forms in the binder he prepared for back up? Opened a can of worms.. Now is that a public record?

Hey Cotton Under A Weinie..you don't pass the smell test either.. I think one is lying. The other just an idiot who puts down laugh emoticons and also posts with a fake account. Noah

You all need to get a handle on what is a public record and what isn't.

Also the ethics committee site shows an official can ask for an opinion but if Barry did not give them permission to publish his name he had that right to privacy, so again, Underhill in collusion with Arduini and Rogers on ECW, in my opinion should not have been publishing that Commissioner Barry asked for an opinion. The Underhill bootlickers are disgusting.

http://www.ethics.state.fl.us/Support/FAQs.aspx#request_opinion

How do I request an opinion?
Who Can Request An Opinion

Any public officer, candidate for public office, or public employee in Florida who is in doubt about the applicability of the standards of conduct or disclosure laws to himself or herself, or anyone who has the power to hire or terminate another public employee, may seek an advisory opinion from the Commission about himself or herself or that employee.
How to Request An Opinion

"Opinions may be requested by letter presenting a question based on a real situation and including a detailed description of the situation. Opinions are issued by the Commission and are binding on the conduct of the person who is the subject of the opinion, unless material facts were omitted or misstated in the request for the opinion. Published opinions will not bear the name of the persons involved unless they consent to the use of their names."

BTW, just what is the social media policy for county employees, Rayme Edler was putting down likes on the Melissa Pino libel post on ECW as well as Nick Gradia posting comment. We pay their salary not for them to politic on Underhill's propaganda facebook site.

And to the interrogator thinking Barry has to answer your calls during the first 72 is on you is also a public nuisance/a pest. Barry can go to Tallahassee with out notifying the public, Some of these escambia citizen watchers/politic facebookers are frankly not the brightest bulbs.

For all we know Barry wasn't even going to put it on the agenda but they forced his hand and he took the political hit.. Life goes on. He was mulling it all over for quite some time.

Not many see the deep machinations by the comments though on news sites. Underhill is good, he knew he could weaponize this and he did.

Combat Soldier turned politician.. uses Toyko Rose, foot soldiers, reporters media..the whole nine yards..well played.

What I'm wondering though is why Barry doesn't forward code violation requests when he said he would.. noticed he mentioned that.. it is his area.

so now the truth comes out on JUECW, tonite. Dildo Doug is stirring this up because he still wants you all to pay his legal fees for being an a$$hole on ECW F/B. He is jealous that Alison, (with one "L)went with Steven to Tallahasse,
