I am one member of a five person board. The opinions I express on this forum are mine only, and do not necessarily reflect the views or opinions of the Escambia County Staff, Administrators, Employees, or anyone else associated with Escambia County Florida. I am interested in establishing this blog as a means of additional transparency to the public, outreach to the community, and information dissemination to all who choose to look. Feedback is welcome, but because public participation is equally encouraged, appropriate language and decorum is mandatory. Although this is not my campaign site for re-election--sometimes campaign related information will be discussed, therefore in an abundance of caution I add the following : Political Advertisement Paid for and Approved by Jeff Bergosh, Republican, for Escambia County Commissioner District 1

D1 Perdido Town Hall Tuesday October 25th 6PM-8PM

We will be holding our next townhall in the Perdido/Perdido Key are of District 1 on Tuesday, October 25th 2022.

We will have the gymnasium at Perdido Bay United Methodist Church reserved for this function which will occur from 6:00-8:00 PM on the 25th.

The primary topic will be traffic and ongoing impacts to traffic caused by multiple ongoing construction projects in the are to include work on Sorrento Road, Johnson's Beach Road and Perdido Key Drive, and the intersection of Innerarity Point road and Perdido Key Drive.

We will also discuss all aspects of the multi unit townhomes/marina project which is slated for construction on the north side of the Baars Bridge.

In the lead up to this townhall, I will be publishing all the information I have received on this project thus far, including the traffic analysis and permits received for the project from all entities, Federal, state, and local.  I'll be inviting the developers representative to this meeting to discuss all aspects of the project with the public, and staff from the relevant county departments will be on hand as well to answer constituent concerns and questions.

As I always do at every town hall I host, I will go through every comment submitted and have staff answer questions posed, and any questions we do not have a ready answer for, we will send once we get it to the constituents.

Bring your questions and concerns and we will see you all on the 25th!

I’m sure you can justify the ridiculous vote to not buy the second fire truck at a discount. This BOCC is so lucky to have federal funds otherwise your fiscal irresponsibility would be highlighted for everyone to see the incompetence of this board. Future commissioners will pay the price for your ineptitude

6:30--AKA Frequent Flyer IP Contrarian--It is not your fault you don't understand the reasoning behind the affirmative vote we made to purchase an extra aerial-- out of cycle. But understand that purchase was made on short notice with very little time for us to do our due diligence and the fact we did it is a big win for ECFR and the county. Obviously your off the cuff, incorrect assessment that this was "ineptitude" is an inaccurate, parroted talking point from about 12 misinformed facebook chat site keyboard warriors and the second rated moring talk show guy that thinks he's the smartest man on the planet. I suggest you come to this town hall in person, put this question to me in person, and get the cogent explanation publicly for your edification.

It would be difficult for anyone to understand the reasons for not purchasing the second aerial. None was given. Barry sat there with a blank stare and May was unprepared. One aerial down for 600 days and another has been relocated from Perdido Key to Pensacola Beach. We could have got that second truck at a substantial discount but if we should choose to put that order in next year it could be 15%-20% more. Instead of trying to insult your constituents with your childish remarks why not offer up more of an explanation than the purchase would be out of cycle. At your town hall will you take questions directly from the audience or will they have to write those out on an index card so you won’t have to hear the anger in their voices?

Please stop the name calling. We had enough of that with your predecessor

I don’t like comment card question process. See, I like to hear me talk and I really like complaining while bashing you for all my problems and those problems with the world. So please let this devolve into chaos. That’s how black hearts like me enjoy our lives of drama.

2:23--I answered an incorrect attack with a factual statement. Not an attack, and not an instance of "name calling." And BTW--my predecessor in D1 was a gentleman and I don't believe he ever called anyone names; I think you are referring to the soon to be former D2 commissioner. But I digress. That "comment" which drew my response which you have decreed was me "name calling" came from the same IP address as about 20 other ad hominem attack comments. It's spam, it's not intelligent, and most importantly--the points attempted to be put forward by this individual, who is a "Repeat IP Address Contrarian" are inaccurate, period. Here is a newsflash for you. Calling someone a contrarian who utilized the same IP address over and over and over in the pursuit of attempting to create the appearance of a large bloc of folks who are thinking the same thing is an accurate description, not perjorative. Go look up contrarian, maybe you don't know what that means? Let me help you: A contrarian who is someone who never agrees, always finds disagreement. Like say, someone who's best buddy got beat badly in an election and who can't get over it and from that point on will constantly criticize the election victor--even on issues that are clear cut positive events. Does that help you understand? Anon 9:26-----LOL Spot On assessment!
