Read the Final Order from the Ethics Commission on Commissioner Doug Underhill

The Florida Ethics Commission, as of late yesterday afternoon, sent to the Governor their final order in the Doug Underhill investigation, where they recommend a punishment of $35,000.00 dollars, public censure and reprimand, and removal from office for his five violations of Florida statutes related to ethics.

Read the final order and public report,  hot off the press,  here.

It is my understanding that Commissioner Underhill's attorney, Mark Herron, has already filed a notice of appeal.

The BCC should censure him the next meeting for the video he released on youtube spreading disinformation regarding the 401a option. AKA lies.

I would think, if I was elected and not sure if I was going to be vested by serving two terms, and the contribution was the same for taxpayers either way, I would chose the lump sum option. It's not a pension or retirement.

Even the Democrat running against Bender and commission elect Kohler doesnt seem to get it.

He has poisoned the minds of many with his rhetoric on that issue.

The board has let him get away with too much. You have proof right there it was him all along.

CENSURE and make that right.

He says the clerk sued you, no she stopped paying which she doesn't have that authority to do.

Anon 12:13, here’s video of Doug begging the governor to remove the problem of his pension from him, stating the honest to God’s truth that the time to correct a wrong is right now:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3X5riCErYU

“No legislator at any level, whether it be County, State, Local, Territorial, Tribal, or Federal, should ever receive a pension.” — Commissioner Doug Underhill

The power of disinformation. :( It's frightening, and so difficult to combat among the KoolAid Crew. Why so many people are so willingly duped by a handful of liars, I will never understand.

Doug didn't fill out his FRS paperwork and pretended not to elect by failing to check a box--knowing full well that it would automatically dump him into the FRS system.

If Doug vests fully, guess how much pension he will receive a year for the rest of his life?

Around TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS.

So Doug' about 50. Let's say he lives to be 80 years old (quite possible, if he manages not to give himself a coronary from his explosive anger disorder).

That's $600,000 dollars over a lifetime. Yes, you read that correctly: SIX. HUNDRED. THOUSAND. TAXPAYER. DOLLARS, if he lives to be eighty.

Kind of puts that 50K for every year enrolled while in office, ONE TIME PAY OUT 401a annuity in perspective, doesn't it?

So let's say, e.g, Robert Bender does receive about 50K a year from the 401a and he does 8 years in office.

That would be about a 400K payout out, ONE TIME, and the taxpayers are done. Meanwhile, Doug could very well collect 200K ABOVE that, OR EVEN MORE, of taxpayer money over his lifetime--and possibly Wendy's after him, assuming he goes first. (I don't know if they elected that way.)

And yes, I've heard now that Myra Van Hoose has put something around with some 180K number? I haven't seen it, but that's so disappointing if true. We don't need any more active disinformation on this topic or any other. Doug, ECW, and their Downtown puppet masters aiming at consolidation have provided enough of that to last County residents a lifetime.

Exactly Melissa. Well said. The board probably can't take action right now because of the current litigation and by then because of cognitive dissonance many voters will already have the misinfo lodged into their grey matter.

At least Marlette quit drawing cartoons.

Underhill has really been a toxic cancer allowed to fester for far too long.

He appeals to the plutophobic mindset and the law of attraction brings it back to bite him in the butt.

If people will go... "Wait a minute" . scratch their heads and realize he is lying just about everytime he says something, dig a little deeper and educate themselves and pay attention we would all be better off.

Thank you for your willingness and ability to clearly communicate this Melissa and Kevin.

May you have a hedge of protection around you. 🙏

Yes I saw something from Myra and also Kohler. Hope they can reason this out and not remain victims of false info.

For one, per HR, the BCC retirement option is really not the publics business and those records should never have been released to begin with. Of course elected officials can obtain an opinion from the ethics commission.

That release of HR info is more abuse of power from a sitting member of a board the ethics commission doesn't even know about. Not to mention the DOH release. What did that accomplish?

Disaster has been in the wake of Underhill and his use of ECW the whole time.

They BCC has spent more time and money having to defend themselves. How is that progress or reform? It is not.

Even this latest on bs on Crony Capitalism..

Eyeroll.. Remember the vote was 16 to 1...

Life goes on..

For the people in the back row, an elected official choosing the legal 401a annuity over the long run costs less than supporting a lifetime retirement plus paying out for a survivor!!

Doug is a LIAR.

Even JAR had to run to Steven's town hall and parrot her ❤️ for her psychopath rather than support our own elected D5 commissioner. It was disturbing to see it on video.

It is truly beyond the pale to have been and to be witnessing this.

Hopefully the Govoner follows protocol from the commission on ethics.

If Underhill doesn't want retirement why doesn't he just resign.

137, so he could twist them to try to get an advantage because of gullible people like you.
Board you should add this to the letter to the Governor, but RD probably doesn't need more documentation. That is a continual abuse of power and inability to up hold the oath of office.

I guess you have to wait for the outcome of the lawsuit. Some can look up and find on the internet that annuities are an available option but they would rather hang around Underhill and his Toby(s) and sniff their rears like obedient little sheep.

While he exclaims, "no one needs retirement".. while handing on by a thread trying to get his and some.

HR records are not public records, neither is confidential economic development projects and shade transcripts of current litigation, nor confidential reports to the DOH..

BY LAW for good reason. But someone has to be reasonable to grasp that and also the why.

There aren't many people like that obviously.

Off topic, anyone hear the absolute nonsense coming from Saltzman challenger? She has no ioata of the power and authority expected of D1 legislator in the state but she's on the ballot and I bet a Democrat will vote for her. I doubt it's a problem though. It's on tricity ledger.

At the meeting Thursday, I would like for you to ask him why doesn't he resign since he stated on record he doesn't think anyone in public office should draw a pension. That would preclude him from being vested. Then he could put his money where his mouth is.

That would save him the embarrassment for a futher news cycle after being removed.

That is if the Governor doesn't remove him before then.

I mean it will be the elephant in the room this Thursday. I think it would be a really interesting discussion topic during commissioners' forum.

I wonder what his invocation will be.

"God thank you for making me the hero in my own eyes and Your special enlightened one and reformer of the masses.. help me to continue to pull the wool over the eyes of my followers while I divide, insult, creat chaos like none before me.. in fact God, since I am even smarter than you.. how about a moment of silence while I honor myself and legacy for just a few more minutes before I must depart..."
