Wake Up Call for Thursday: Slow Jamming Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us"

Today on the wake-up call live on WPNN 103.7 we discussed state, local, national, and international topics of interest.  We discussed the upcoming Super Bowl and the Halftime performance by Kendrick Lamar.  We discussed the lyrics to his smash hit song, “Not Like Us” and we even read (carefully) the lyrics to this song (only the non-curse words….)  I slow jammed the words.  I wonder if the Super Bowl halftime producers will let him sing these lyrics uncensored? ? ?

In addition to this, we discussed actual important things like:

-local news and information

-The mass shooting in Ohio

-The liberals’ gnashing of teeth over Trump’s Gaza aspirations

-Pam Bondi’s AG swearing in ceremony

-Google eliminating DEI Quotas

-we took in and read and responded to a ton of great listener text messages

And much more….

You can hear a complete recording of today’s live show here.

We are live each weekday morning from 6:00AM-8:00AM on WPNN-Pensacola's Information Station, where local, conservative morning-drive talk radio is ALIVE and Well and where we give you the most powerful hour(s) in local morning drive talk radio.

News, weather, traffic, humor, and educated, intelligent discourse with no PC filters....

In addition to this, we discussed

-local news and information

-The mass killing is Sweden

-The liberals’ gnashing of teeth over the closure of USAID

-RFK’s approval through committee and headed to nomination

-The Canadian math whiz who is alleged to have stolen $65 Million in cryptocurrency

And much more….

Another Baseless Allegation Against me Gets Rebuked......Attorney Recommends Dismissal

Cerk of the Court Pam Childers' vaccuous, meritless, baseless ethics complaint against me summarily recommeded for dismissal......

It's like Deja Vu all over.

First, insiders in the county IT department stole confidential  files and disseminated them to others in contravention to law in an effort to destroy me.  No consequences to any of them for what they did-- even though what they did was a crime and possession of the PII in the stolen files is a Felony.  Ho hum.  No consequences.  Multiple people have this data, the state officials charged with enforcing laws prohibiting this know who has it, and nobody has been charged.

Nope--In lieu of prosecuting those that did wrong in stealing and passing around copies of Social Security Numbers, Tax Forms, Medical Records, Banking Information, and other sensitive data---the powers that be instead decided to cook up some BS garbage that I violated the sunshine law.  They even sent stolen text messages from my personal phone to the grand jury hoping I had done something wrong.  The grand jury, after going through three-years worth of my text messages with a fine toothed comb, quickly determined I had done nothing wrong, committed no crime, and they returned no true bill.  Case closed.

Fast forward to mid July of this year, right before the election, and I get notified that Clerk of the Court Pam Childers has filed a baseless, vaccuous, vindictive and meritless "Ethics Complaint" against me.

Now, the way these things work is they are confidential until there is a finding of a violation or when there is a recommendation of no violation by the LAWYERs who work at the ethics commission.

So, I got the complaint, spoke to the investgator, and sent in my response to the FDOE.

The prosecuting investigator pushed forward, and I pushed back---knowing I followed every law to the T.

Just because people don't like what I say, or don't like the things I said in private text messages that were stolen and disseminated unlawfully-----does not mean I have done anything wrong.

To the contrary--I follow rules, I follow the law, have never violated any law during my 18 year tenure on either the school board or the board of county commissioners.   That's why, when my head hits the pillow at night I am out like a light, and I sleep like a rock.

So, it comes as no surprise that even after the prosecuting investigator pushed this garbage bag case forward with this garbage report---my answer quelched and squashed any notion that anything unlawful had occurred.  Blew it up like a bomb.  Blew it to smithereens.

The minute an actual expert in the law, a LAWYER with FDOE looked at the prosecuting investigator's report and my response side by side---it was almost an instantaneous recommendation by the Lawyer for dismissal.  From the FDOE LAWYER's order:

"There is insufficient evidence to reflect that Respondent brought the matter to the County Commission in a manner that was inconsistent with the proper performance of his public duties.  While County Attorney Rogers initially opined that Selover's request to pay the fine and fees should be rejected, she then offered an alternative option that the County Commission voted to accept as a means to pay the fines and fees.  Therefore, based on the evidence before the commission, I recommend that the commission find no probablecause to believe that Respondent violated Section 112.313(6), Florida statutes."

Thank you District 1 for the Honor and Privilege of a Lifetime: Serving You for 18 Years.

Last night's election was not the outcome I had anticipated or hoped for, but the voters have spoken in District 1 and have chosen new leadership and direction for this district. I thank God for his grace and love, I thank my wife Sally and my entire family for their support over the last 18 years I have served in office locally. I also want to thank the countless friends and supporters I have been fortunate to know over that same time period who have propelled me into office multiple times over. And finally, I want to thank the citizens of District 1 for giving me the honor and privilege of a lifetime--the opportunity to serve you two terms as your school board member and two terms as your County Commissioner. I will always look fondly on the many good and positive achievements that were realized in these years in both the school district and in the county. Last night, shortly after the returns came in, I called and spoke to the victor in this contest, Steve Stroberger. I congratulated him on his win and I ensured him that I would work with him to provide for a smooth, seamless transfer of this office in November. Thank you to everyone and I am remain hopeful, optimistic, and bullish on the future of this great community!

Huge Day for District 1: Perdido Key Multi-use Path Ribbon Cutting at 11:00 AM

From the County's Press Release:

Escambia County District 1 Commissioner Jeff Bergosh and county staff invite the public to a ribbon cutting for the Perdido Key Multi-Use Path Tuesday, July 23, at 11 a.m. The ribbon cutting will take place at the Perdido Key Visitors Information Center, located at 15500 Perdido Key Dr.

"The multi-use path is a fantastic amenity for Perdido Key," Commissioner Bergosh said. "I'm excited to officially open it up during our summer season, where residents and visitors can get outside and explore the area's natural beauty, and I'm thrilled to see the multi-use path already being well-used by pedestrians and bicyclists. This is the culmination of years of hard work, and I'm thankful to our staff for their diligence in completing this project."

The Perdido Key Multi-Use Path was identified as a priority in the Perdido Key Master Plan, along with the Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization’s 2018-2022 Pedestrian/Bicycle Master Plans.

The multi-use path is designed for pedestrians and bicycles, with motorized vehicles prohibited. The Perdido Key Drive Multi-Use Path East project extends from River Road to the western boundary of Perdido Key State Park, spanning 4.26 miles in length. The western portion of the path runs approximately 2.3 miles eastward from the Florida-Alabama state line.

This project aims to provide better connectivity along Perdido Key, while providing opportunities for alternative means of transportation such as walking or biking. With the completion of the Perdido Key Multi-Use Path, residents and visitors can more easily access and travel between residential, commercial and recreational areas throughout Perdido Key.

The Perdido Key Multi-Use Path project also includes an extensive wildlife mitigation program to protect critical habitat for endangered species.

On 1370 WCOA at 7:00 AM Tomorrow Discussing the $240 Million Dollar Appropriation for the Beulah Interchange in D1....

I'll be on 1370 WCOA tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM to discuss the full-funding D1's Beulah Interchange!

I've once again been asked to appear as the lead off guest on the area's best, most accurate, most trusted, and most listened-to morning drive news program--"Real News with Rick Outzen" on the area station with the best top to bottom news talk line up---AM 1370 WCOA.

Rick and I will discuss the tremendous news from today, already covered on WEAR and in the PNJ, about District 1 getting a MASSIVE win in the form of a $240 Million Dollar appropriation from FDOT this year for the complete construction of the Beulah Interchange.

This project has been nearly a decade in the making;  Beulah is the fastest growing area of the county and this project allows us to catch up with the growth and prepare this portion of Escambia County for the build-out of OLF 8.

This project, which will commence in 2025, will be transformational for D1, Escambia County, and for our region.  I look forward to the conversation.

Catch the interview live at 7:00 AM--or catch the podcast here.

Massive $240 Million Appropriation Coming to Beulah: Interchange is Fully Funded

Channel 3 is reporting today that it is official.

Rumors had swirled, folks had made mention of it as a possibility....

But today the word is out.   And it is official

The Beulah Interchange is fully funded in this current year's budget and with some shuffling of existing projects from elsewhere in the state and the use of some other funding sources.

Read the Channel 3 story here

Much more to come on this MASSIVELY Transformational win for the Beulah Community, District 1, and Escambia County in the next several days.

A ceremonial groundbreaking for this project is tentatively scheduled for late next week and will feature dignitaries from the state as well as members of our local legislative delegation and county officials.

I was asked by PNJ, WEAR, and NorthEscambia for my statement on this epic win, which I will print below:

"The $240 Million Appropriation from the state to fully fund the construction of the Beulah Interchange beginning next year will be an amazing  and transformational project for Beulah, District 1, and Escambia County!  We certainly could not have done it without the steady leadership of Senator Doug Broxson, combined with sustained persistence by the Florida Alabama transportation planning organization as we on that committee kept this project as our number one priority.  Thank you to our legislature, the Governor, and the folks at FDOT for  getting this necessary project funded for Escambia County!"
