Guidelines
I have established this blog as a means of transparency to the public, outreach to the community, and information dissemination to all who choose to look. Feedback is welcome, but because public participation is equally encouraged, appropriate language and decorum is mandatory.

I dont think the Administrator for the county should have to go on the radio shows or TV. You hire people to do that job.
Make a policy. Let public relations people do public relations.
Give them a break and let them do their jobs.
Don't keep politicizing public safety.
1:18--Wes goes on these shows of his own free will--none of us dictate to him that he does or does not appear on local media---It is his call only. I happen to think he does a great job and him being able to transcend the ugliness of politics and just tell the story of the county is a great thing on these shows. But it is his call. We do have a very good cadre of media relations personnel in our CMR office that do a great job. But the media sometimes want to talk to Wes-- which is fine. I listened to the interview and I appreciated his candor and also the fact that he challenged Tallman on the regurgitated, recycled talking points and false narratives. I like the fact that he is a leader who won't let the tail wag the dog and let folks bully and intimidate county personnel. Wes is doing a great job.
He sounded tired. He had to go to the town hall, the coffee, then the radio show. He didn't sound too good. It must be difficult at this time. For all.
I also listened to the union rep.
He said the money is fine they just want to be treated like humans.
I think the short staffing and pressure of overtime to cover shift and save lives is on display.
I don't think giving into the demands to fire someone is a good practice though.
Evolve.
Wes can go if he wants but he sounded like he was not at work and on a bender. It did. It even sounded like a cigarette lighter was clicking in the background.
That's all.
So yes, it seems to always be a problem with EMS at the county.
Hope they work it out among themselves.
I'm sure it's tough.
