Chief Rusty Nail RESCINDS His Resignation

So if I'm a county employee and I don't like my boss or something about my job all I do is resign and if what I didn't like changes I can come right back? Seems a little childish. If I can't play my way I'm going home! To me if you quit you quit regardless of what changes to your liking. You have given up the right to come back.

This is Bizarre, ECW has let a person in from Palm Bay (I thought only local people can join) and one of the union guys calls her the "mouth of the south" and past HR also says this sounds like the equestrian center.

Stay--no go, fly red baron, turn stuff in, leaving? staying?

The fire people like it..
IDK whatzz up??

Soap Opera ..

So is he after Mike Weaver's job or what?

The tall tall tale of Rusty Nail..
classic

where is Greasy Screw? and Hammer Head?

Deep Socket, enter stage right, Act I scene 2

Looks like a plot unfolding, a dastardly plan in the making?

Looks like Doug and Rusty are gaming the county. I hope Amy says No Of course that's not an informed inside info..just a hunch..

Isn't it illegal for one commissioner to take this guy up to his office and force the administration to bend to their will and hire this guy back. It just seems totally out of bounds. Will the board allow that on their watch?

This post/comment is my opinion and not necessarily that of my employer. Y'all are killing me. So many ridiculous comments. Chief Rusty Nail called their bluff. He told them, as well as others, his plans for ECFR and they were all happy and glad and then it began to unfold and they became grumpy and mad. So, he says, if I can't get support, from either the PSD, CA or the BOCC, he said I'm out. He didn't NEED this position. He WANTED this position. He saw the potential for greatness for ECFR/ECEMS to be one of if not the best in Florida and the Southeast and possibly the nation. So whatever ideas of ignorance y'all have about Chief Nail, put it to bed. Whatever ideas y'all have about the union "strong arming" anyone, put it to bed. A vote of no confidence is not taken lightly and not done on a whim. By the way...put this blog where more folks can see it and not just those in the small circle or naysayers. I will be happy to put to bed any other ludicrous ideology you may have as well.

It just seems odd that the county had the meeting and wrote off the EMS claims, and said the amount was higher than normal due to a glitch in the software, early in April and WEAR ran a story and all seemed fine. Then Underhill takes an email he writes to Lavoy and runs it to Cromagnam man yesterday at channel 3 and interviews on his porch like he is saving the county. Why does he keep doing those political stunts? I would think the county would have had about enough of that. Is that even ethical?

It looks like Underhill is trying to railroad out Weaver and place a union man in the slot. Did you see where Houston, TX had to have a huge layoff of firefighters yesterday?

They do that no confidence vote as a political tool. They did it in Palm Bay. Yes everyone loves a sexy fireman in a suit saving a kitty cat for a little girl. Give them a donut. If you raise a question everyone want to play the "What-- you don't support saving lives?" fallacy

Of course these services are needed, but I think the hash tag "What will it take" that was started in January is probably national. Pushy Pushy

The county has a problem by having both county employees and union employees in the same areas doing the same jobs for unequal pay. That would lower morale.

Not sure what to do about it. Privatize the services?

And Amy stands tall and tell him don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.

These forceful bully's will not be tolerated. Good for you Ms. Lavoy.

It looks like he wanted to resign for personal reasons earlier in the year but he and d2 schemed up a plan to weaponize the problems in public safety and they are willing to destroy the reputations of anyone who stands in their way. That is how diabolical d2 is.

So are y'all going to let Underhill and Nail get away with a coup? Or let Nail walk and pretend nothing happened? Watching to see if anyone has an ounce of integrity or courage.

Those “guys” D2 and Nail... had no idea what they were doing! Good authority just maybe Nail should get a realtor to sell his high dollar condo... you done mister! They actually NAILED YOUR RUSTY SELF TO THE WALL! Ha!

He is done! Nail will never be anything in Escambia County. He was very ambitious but too many folks saw though him. He has no idea what’s about to happen.

Yeah, inquiring minds do want to know what a few comments made by people in Palm Bay and Orlando meant on F/B When they seemed to be in the know about Nail. Yes still wondering about that..One said "Do they have any money left in the budget in Escambia?" and the other is all those past ties are "rusted" when they named the new fire chief in Palm Bay..

So yes what's the rest of the story. Do tell.
