Interactive Town Hall Meeting in District 1 will Happen on 7-15-2019

On Monday, July 15th we will be holding our next town hall meeting in District 1.  We will hold this town hall in the cafeteria of Beulah Middle School beginning at 6:00 PM.

Staff from the county will be present as well, in order to answer questions and take audience questions/concerns.

In addition to covering the topics above, we will take comments and questions from audience members that wish to participate, and we will also have an interactive session where questions will be asked of the audience with the intention of soliciting opinions from the group via hand-held cards that will say either "agree" or "disagree"--in order to get the group's input on a variety of pressing topics.

This will be an interactive town hall, with audience participation encouraged.  In addition to taping the town hall for later addition to the county's website, we will also be live-streaming the town hall on Facebook for those who cannot make the meeting in person but who want to watch online.

Just some input here, although this isn't in D1 Its about invocation at public meetings and the park in Pensacola and the Bay View cross and other assorted things that go along with that. A lady performed a nice neopagan blessing at a BOCC not too long ago, it was very tasteful and concise and respectful, I don't remember the exact day so the BOCC has entertained another not so mainstream faith, Commissioner Underhill invited her. She was polite and not theatrical nor attention seeking. I don't like the personality of the plaintiff who called the watchtowers singing for four minutes in 2014 and also dressed in a grim reaper outfit, I think in 2016. The behavior has nothing to do with religion but is just very disrespectful of not only Christians but some others who quietly embrace some other religious thought and practices and co exist. He seems to just want to offend. I hope he is barred due to his disruptive actions and rude and course dialog with citizens. He has said he will piss on the cross. It is very hostile and he should be given no berth nor oxygen. It is rumored he painted graffiti on that sign in the park himself. I think he is nervous he will have a counter suit with the Bay View Cross when the 11th court hears the case again. So many of us are not in favor of this group. We have freedom of religion, not freedom from it. They are just trying to steal money from taxpayers. We don't want to turn in cash and coin because it has In God we trust on it" and be hit with a cyber attack and EFT and electricity go down. Those FFR group are sharks. They misconstrue the constitution for their own gain.

Well there are several new developments for D1 but is response to anony 10:34 PM

Yes the out spoken plaintiff is trying to save face but actually the case he is citing on facebook about prayer clearly states that the establishment clause ALLOWS invocations and also the Cross will stay in place because of historical significance.

Go look up the recent opinion on the 11th court web site. He tries to pretend he understands constitutional law. Most see him for what he is.

He is losing, not going to argue with him. Notice how he changes his stance? first no prayer, then oh discrimination when he was allowed to go and make a mockery out of the solemn traditions.

Yes a counter suit would be poetic justice but it may just be dropped and done. Yes he probably has pink paint under his own fingernails.
