Concerned Residents Attended Our Public Input Meeting in Beulah
Thank you to the residents of Beulah that came to the Florida Alabama TPO's public meeting in Beulah Wednesday night. Although the meeting was advertised in multiple places, to include in the Pensacola News Journal--a number of constituents were not aware and asked that I put a synopsis of the meeting out so that those that are interested could learn what was presented at the meeting.
Approximately 30 residents came and were given information about the Florida Alabama Transportation Planning Organization, what this board does, what it's membership currently is, and the reason for this meeting--that being an amendment to the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP).
The LRTP must be amended in order to add the Beulah Interchange project, as well as an important transportation project for Santa Rosa County.
Before the full TPO can vote to add these projects to the amended LRTP, public sessions must be held where citizens can offer input--thus the meeting.
The PowerPoint that that accompanied this meeting can be accessed here.
Additional documents can be found here
Additional information about the Florida Alabama TPO can be found here.
And although there are some citizens that remain very wary and apprehensive about the Beulah Interchange--I can honestly say that once this is built, it will cut the traffic in Beulah tremendously--as it will add another interstate 10 onramp that the western half of Beulah will be able to utilize--instead of our current situation where all of Beulah uses exit 5 to access the interstate. It will be a number of years before we get this built, but this is the reason for the planning that must happen now to get this built.

I appreciate the relevant information you put here. I’m amazed a few people attack you on a blog Escambia Citizens Watch Free speech for posting information. One guy, Richard Lozer complains when you provide information it’s either to early, or too late, but never just right. Speaking of Goldie Locks, Alice Wurst Kneel just whines about everything. The there’s Tony Curtis Trash , whose Wife Dorian, talks almost as much trash about you as she does about Navy Fed, complains about your information you post to the community. Then there ringleader, J’Aimee (heart is black as midnight, black as pitch) allows them to whine about you. What I gather is, Lozer, Trash couple, wurst neel Black heart J’Aimee, they’re liberals who hate Trump and Hate you. They wish Hillary had won and they wish Sindell had won. Too bad they can’t stop whining and living in the past.

HAHAHA
Yes and how about the ridiculousness for purchasing, for someone to pretend to be so smart and knowledgeable they sound foolish. It's not hard to go to myescambia, type in a search to study procurement procedures. There is a difference between sole source and get this new term "EMERGENT"
It's not the free speech that attacks Bergosh.
LMAO
They look like a bunch of ducklings following mother goose..
Them stomp their feet and say it's because of jobs and lewis bear, do you think Poppa goose sits backs and laughs about how he has them all stirred up to his false narratives?
Hold my beer..it's going to be a S%^&T show. The truth about that disclosure though is true. Beat him at his own game. He's a bad apple.
Actually in life though the truth is sometimes in between the extremes..
Anonymous--that is funny. Yeah, I used to be a member of Escambia Citizens Watch. Then a funny thing happened: It got conscripted by about two dozen or so folks that really loved one of my opponents in my last election..an opponent that came in last place when I won. They really loved that candidate that lost. And they really love Doug Underhill too. It's almost like hero worship. So they hate me , they hate NFCU, they hate the fact that the Country has grown, they hate the fact that the County has grown, they hate jobs, they hate just about everything so far as I can tell. They wish the world would never change and they believe I am the cause of everything in their lives that they hate so much. A funny thing, recently I happened to take a glance at that site that I refer to as Escambia Hate Club, and several that used to be chummy with one-another were beating each other up and ganging up on one person who has really been trying to help the community even through a serious health condition. It was sad to witness, so I shut it off. It is a den of hate but the thing they hate the most is me. In that echo chamber of hate, everything in the world that is bad is my fault. Anything bad happens, to these folks it is all my fault. I think they are really irrational and unbalanced--it would almost be amusing if it were not so damn sad. I actually do pray for them, the ones that hate me so much. Hate is in their DNA. In fact, they are such haters that I wonder sometimes if there is anything they don't hate. A few of them in particular, they hate me so much that if I handed them the winning lottery ticket they would put it in their pocket, look both directions and then and shoot me in the face if they could get away with it. It's odd and very surreal how much they hate and how their entire world revolves around their misery and hostility and hatred. What a group they are.....
I do appreciate all the prayers from Commissioner Bergosh and others in the community for me - it just may be what changed my prognosis. I must correct one fact about the blog "Escambia Citizens Watch Free Speech" that a previous "Anonymous" comment spoke about. I do not go on that group because it revels in slander, so I don't know about what those mentioned say there. But I do know J'Aimee - Jacqueline Rogers - HAS NOTHING to do with the "free speech" group. In fact, she is the target of disgusting speculation and ridicule there, as I have been. On her group, Escambia Citizens Watch, Ms. Rogers provides a great public service to the community with public information for 6,602 members and anyone else who goes to the public group. Yes, the discussion can get nasty at times, but she does her best to police what happens there. But in the end, Facebook speech on any group is free speech - if not kind, logical or substantiated. Finally, labeling those "Anonymous" mentioned as "liberals" is laughable.
I think anonymous 2:27 was confused about ECW and ECWFS. But it’s so much in the weeds, only partisans for one camp or the other are on there. Blackwell was savaged on ECW, but she still defends it because her partisan loyalties are there with Frank Underwood. They point out Underwood was re-elected so end of story. Of course his margin of victory over the true gentleman McMillian in the primary was only 211 votes, hardly any kind of mandate or at all impressive for an incumbent. So, some view ECW as vile and mean spirited and in the tank for Underwood. Others think other Facebook groups are the same. In the end, Citizens have to research and come to their own conclusions, hopefully logically. I try to see how politicians speak to citizens: are they polite and respectful. Do they stand their ground when they need to do so. Do they communicate with others, bring good ideas, and alert others to potential problems to fix them or do they play gotcha politics. I hated the way Mrs. Blackwell was savaged on ECW. She is unfazed by the meanness as her loyalties there Trump her own betrayal there.
Yes confirmation bias is real, plus it's obvious who doesn't really pay attention to enough details of online discussions, watch the meeting for themselves and research. It IS time consuming.
Thank you for providing great information here Commissioner Bergosh
It really is a shame for the citizens to be so much in one commissioner's corner. Why is that? It is like raw oysters and boiled okra, you either hate it or easily swallow the slime. ECW would be better if Peckerwood had and will bow out. It destroyed the dynamics of a group of citizens.
What I have noticed is once people make up their minds they don't seem to change it, so why bother.
I really wish McMillan had been elected. I think the tone in Escambia would have been so much better, maybe we shouldn't live in the past either though.
Black and white thinking might not be in the best interest going forward.
Oh dang for everybody who's Throwing Shade around you sure can't say Who You Are. To label us as liberals in voting for Hillary you obviously really do not know a single one of us. I don't know Jeff if you're not getting old enough comments on your blogs and you're doing it yourself or if Mel Pino is write an anonymous now or what the case may be but I fully expect if you got something to say or if you want to throw accusations at somebody I wouldn't do it anonymously. You lose all your credibility that way
Anonymous 6:14--thanks for the kind words. Theresa Blackwell, thanks for weighing-in with your opinion. I happen to agree with you in part, but I disagree in part as well. So we will agree to disagree where we do not agree. Dorrian Vance--I know it seems unfair when anonymous posters say things about which you disagree. That happens to me a lot when fake facebook profiles come to my facebook site and attack me. But I can assure you when anonymous comments appear here, they come from all kinds of different IP addresses. I measure my hits on this blog in the tens of thousands now, with nearly half a million different IPs since I started it. It really gets crushed, especially when I post about Beulah or OLF 8. But I won't not let folks post anonymously because that is when folks can really tell it like they feel it is. Hopefully you get that but who knows and I really don't care what you think on this one way or another--free speech is rough and if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen :) ---- it comes with the territory when you are an elected official or if you make yourself a "public figure" by blogging and facebooking in multiple sites prolifically; I can take it....Others, well maybe they can't and each must make his/her own decision. But I will NEVER not allow anonymous comments-- Because anonymous speech is free speech so I allow it as long as curse-words are not used. Those posts (the ones I get with expletives) never get published, they stay in the spam folder in perpetuity. And just so you and everyone else knows, I publish comments on here using my real name and I stand by the comments I make. Happy Mother's day and have a great weekend.
Appreciate the concern for me posted by one of the many "anonymous" commenters, but I do not let any criticism of me dissuade me from my path. As Quint Studer has said, no matter what you do, on average 30 percent will disapprove. So those are just the breaks when you put yourself forward in a public way. No, I'm not even paid to take abuse like our commissioners appear to be - it actually costs me money to drive downtown often several times a week. But that's just the way it is.
Yeah. I’m with Theresa on the salaries of politicians. School Board makes 50K, County Commission makes 90K. Congress don’t get me started. I’ve never made that in my life. Everyone should do these political jobs for free. Rick Scott did it for free. So does Trump. See the money corrupts. If it wasn’t a paid position, then no one would raise money to run and special interests wouldn’t be involved, right. Because it’s all about the salary earned and not the power. Right? If it wasn’t a paid position, there’d be no controversy. Right? It’s definitely not about service to your community? Right?
@Anonymous 2:27
I don't tow any party line. I vote people and issues, not "R" or "D". I realize that might be difficult for someone like you to understand, as it appears that you just left sixth grade, but I find it lets me sleep better at night.
That being said, if Hillary Clinton had won the Presidency, I doubt I would be dumbing myself down to respond to you. I'd probably be Karaoke level drunk every night of the week and planning my return to Mississippi. (Which speaks volumes, considering I loathe Mississippi.)
