I am one member of a five person board. The opinions I express on this forum are mine only, and do not necessarily reflect the views or opinions of the Escambia County Staff, Administrators, Employees, or anyone else associated with Escambia County Florida. I am interested in establishing this blog as a means of additional transparency to the public, outreach to the community, and information dissemination to all who choose to look. Feedback is welcome, but because public participation is equally encouraged, appropriate language and decorum is mandatory. Although this is not my campaign site for re-election--sometimes campaign related information will be discussed, therefore in an abundance of caution I add the following : Political Advertisement Paid for and Approved by Jeff Bergosh, Republican, for Escambia County Commissioner District 1

Escambia Children's Trust (ECT): Initial Update to BCC and Draft Budget from ECT's Chair of the Board Stepanie Sansing White

Commissioners received an initial update from the newly established Escambia Children's Trust late yesterday afternoon.  The information is very interesting, and the budget layout is also very encouraging--as it appears the vast majority of the funds generated from the .5 Mil levy will go to direct programming for goal achievement.  See the Chair's letter to the board and initial draft budget, below.

I fully support ECT.

The naysayers that’ll pick it apart as they do everything that has a dollar sign attached to it, should tell us their ideas and show us their plan that would bring their ideas to fruition. They won’t though. You know why? Because they don’t have any ideas, plans, or solutions, just complaints for the sake of complaining.

INVEST IN OUR CHILDREN SO THE COMMUNITY PROSPERS.

Why did you really give up your seat on this board to Commissioner Lumon May? Is it because he and his best friend are on the Children’s Trust board together and they can heavily sway the votes now?
