What's the Most Pressing National Public Health Emergency Right Now--AND one that is Affecting Escambia County Disproportionately?

What is the most pressing national health "emergency?"  a non-fatal skin disease that has a vaccine and can be prevented---or dangerous fentanyl from China being added to illegal drugs throughout America (and right here in Escambia County) which will, along with other opioids, actually and ultimately kill more than 100,000 Americans this year?  How come we are being told the former is the crisis--while the latter is all but ignored?

No, I normally do not delve into national topics here on this blog unless there is some compelling local connection to Escambia County.

And there is.

Some master-hypnotist media types and national-level bureaucrats/politicians (left-leaning, primarily) want you to forget all about the epidemic of opioid drug overdoses with fentanyl in America killing more than 100,000 yearly--- and instead---- want us all to focus on a primarily nonfatal disease that afflicts less than a 10th of the number of actual overdose deaths we will see in America this year.  They want you to believe MonkeyPox--a disease that is primarily spread among one sex and one very small segment of the population---and for which there is already treatments and a vaccine---is what EVERYONE must be terrified about right now.

But wait just a minute.

We in Escambia County have pockets of areas and populations where there is a massive, unrestrained drug problem.  Massive.  We have a correspondingly massive increase in deaths and a huge number of citizens overdosing daily on opioids, primarily fentanyl.  And it is costing taxpayers millions of dollars dealing with it-- as our County EMS attends to nearly 6 overdoses daily in our county. (this figure does not include the overdoses that are dumped at emergency rooms nor does it count our sheriff's responses to overdoses)

By contrast--we have had ZERO Monkeypox cases as of the morning of this blogpost reported in our area as reported by the local media.  Nada.  Zilch.  Zero. (one suspected case occurred in Santa Rosa County two weeks back)  (UPDATE-8-23-22--I received a call from William Reynolds yesterday, publisher of NORTHESCAMBIA.COM, on an unrelated topic and he did let me know his outlet and channel 3 also both reported that our area has one (1) presumptive case of MonkeyPox.)  1 case of that, and 6 overdoses daily our EMS units are racing to.......

So why do some politicians and bureaucrats seek so desperately to get average citizens' eyes off the real ball with respect to the massive quanitites of Chinese fentanyl packs coming over the porous border with Mexico flooding America's states and cities?  Illegal crossings are hitting all-time highs and  many who cross are body-packing this dangerous China-manufactured drug like sherpas?

Look at the "number of deaths" increases, directly in proportion to the surge in illegal border crossings over the last 3 years, and tell me THAT is not the pressing national health crisis upon which we should all be focusing?

Nope--it has to be MonkeyPox now.  Only MonkeyPox.

Look, I feel for anyone who gets that awful disease.  It looks horrible from the pictures I have seen--horrible, awful, painful and unsightly.

But we know how to stop it, It is known which behaviors spread it and what the risk factors are, and there is treatment and a vaccine.

So instead of having David Muir lecture us and pontificate at us nightly --complete with a serious face--

about how much of a national epidemic and emergency MonkeyPox is by only spotlighting the miniscule number of underage victims nationwide (less than 10) that have confirmed MonkeyPox diagnoses--how about we get back to reality and talk about the real threat which is fantanyl coming over our border and being put in all kinds of drugs (including weed) and killing our nation's youth?

Including here in Escambia County Florida.

And while we are at it, instead of activists yelling at scientists and traditionally left-leaning media for simply reporting the truth about MonkeyPox without the political-correctness filters------ based upon the latest research--------I hope the police and child protection authorites are thoroughly investigating all of these supposed 7 cases of U.S. children getting MonkeyPox---as again---scientists and doctors know what the real cause(s) of this affliction are.

I can tell you are passionate about this. What I glean is we need secure our southern border.
I know you are passionate about the Hope and Health Clinic and youth.

I'm a little hardened toward people who chose to engage in illicit drug activity although, I do recognize it affects society as a whole, down to our county operations, hospitals, EMS, even morgue. And fentanyl is being put in seemingly less harmful substances. So I hear you there.

I know you like movies, I watched one from 2018 last night named Indian Horse. Hockey player Saul. A Clint Eastwood production.

It touches on this topic you eluded to as far as child abuse plus much more.I recommend it.

The communicable disease, monkeypox, I belive is spread by sexual contact. They say homosexual men but I can't see how it recognizes gender.

I plan to avoid all of it but the big picture is secure the border. Vote Republican.

5:17--thanks I am passionate about not being lied to and manipulated by the cabal of national media, news, and entertainment/sports sources/outets that are attempting to socially engineer the entire population by magnifying stories, themes and ideas which fit their narrative while ignoring stories and themes (and reality in most cases) which do not reflect what "they" want the country to be. Not every American is a sheep. If an alien from space watched American TV for a couple of days and then actually explored the planet and the cities and the inner cities--the reality experienced would be vastly different than what was presented by the news, media, and entertainment/sports mafia. Important, timely stories ignored and pet "causes" magnified. It really is surreal. And this MonkeyPox is an example among many that are out there right now.

Actually, the most pressing public health problem in this area isn't fentanyl, or monkey pox, or anything else: it's the Republican Party, which has devolved its stronghold areas of the country into an out-and-out Lord of the Flies mentality while the money gets funneled to wealthy special interest, the middle class and poor continue to get shit on, and the GOP base keeps obediently licking the hand that beats them.

I do not mean you in particular, Commissioner Bergosh, although your cognitive dissonance is always telling, when your party has failed so apparently, and so miserably, to fund social services in this state, and has ripped away what framework was in place in Florida, and you Just. Can't. Figure. Out. Why. Nobody. Is. Doing. Anything.

There's hope, though. If we're all lucky, Roevember will put Charlie Crist in office, and then you can write blog posts trashing him every week while he goes about fixing what Scott, DeSantis and the rest of the rabid ops wing of the republican party have broken and destroyed in Florida. It shouldn't take him long. You know why? Because it's really not that difficult. You just need not to make your decisions out of your unquenchable desire to be the dictator of a banana republic that sucks the populace dry while lavishing reward on your craven loyalist oligarchy.

While I think above comment is over the top, black and white and melodramatic, I do think spending ARP for tennis courts does lend credence.

I know more is in the works for spending that pot money.

Yes, Media is Propaganda.

https://gov.texas.gov/news/post/operation-lone-star-fights-deadly-fentanyl-crisis-coming-across-border

Fentanyl is pouring over the border and the Biden administration is failing to secure the border.

Common sense, if someone is concerned about poor American citizens why would they champion more coming into the country that have not paid into the system.

Rhetorical question really.

809 in the above comments sounds just like Biden did in his Soul of the Nation comments.
Don't forget that.

Also take a gander at the ridiculous Women against Matt Gaetz and Rebekah Jones fiasco. The WAMG are selling Tshirts, are against our congressman yet don't support the challenger. It's pitiful yet a little funny.

Can't they even acknowledge why Roe was revisited? The original framers of the constitution did not address abortion and SCOTUS revisited bad law and turned it back to the states. You can get an abortion in the first trimester and beyond a few weeks in Florida. People are stupid.

Biden's ridiculous Soul of the Nation put a spotlight on the absolute effing insanity of the left. One can't unsee that. He should be impeached for that!

EXPOSED!

Crist will not be Governor and Gaetz will not lose. NO vember.
