Bringing Food Trucks to Beulah has proven to be a HUGE hit with the community! |
The first week of the initiative to bring a rotating assortment of food trucks to Beulah's equestrian center has turned out to be a HUGE hit with the community. I knew it would be--as a Beulah resident for the last nearly 16 years---I know folks are tired of not having more hot food options locally.
So this week I have come out to the equestrian center a number of times and seen for myself the success of this idea.
Some detractors that are detached from reality panned the idea early in the week. One anonymous poster (who actually railed against anonymous posters--while posting anonymously himself) went so far as to weaponize this idea, and attack me in the comments portion of my blog saying it was "embarrassing" how bad the idea--and that I should be "ashamed"(not really sure what that guy was thinking, seeing, observing......or smoking LOL---but he obviously isn't rational). Want a good laugh? see his delusional comments, the ones he hasn't removed yet, here on the bottom of this post. Really a whacked-out--lunatic -job!). Spock would likely call this guy's idiotic, unhinged, and exercised ramblings fascinating....
But nut-jobs and nut products aside---- and back to reality here on Planet Earth----most everyone else (like 99.9%) seems to be pretty upbeat and positive on the outcome. I've been thanked profusely online for helping to bring the concept out to the Equestrian Center, and for adding more trucks to the site and for getting the fees waived.
And now----------- even the PNJ--no friend to any idea I have ever put forward---is recognizing this idea has been a gigantic, smashing success.
From the article that will appear in print tomorrow in the local section:
"The Escambia County initiative to bring a rotating selection of food trucks to Beulah has proven a success — a hit with locals grateful to pay for meals brought to their area on wheels — as evidenced by the number of munching, crunching and smiling faces spread across the Equestrian Center parking lot Thursday at lunchtime. Vendors were pleased too — happy for business."

This has been a hit. Lots of people having fun. Being responsible and enjoying life. Great weather. Just really a nice break from all the negative virus stuff. Great job on your part. A few folks though stood out. I. saw two house husbands here getting food for their families. One was driving a car with Colorado plates. A big, big fella who ate from every truck. He said his name was Collosson or something like that. The other couldn’t stop complaining about everything, including the food. Interestingly, as he was complaining, he was eating from a truck and seemed happy, but couldn’t put his phone down and was complaining on Facebook. I think he said his name was Blabington or something like that. Funny thing, they were both near each other and got phone calls about the same time. It seemed they both were in trouble for not being home and not cleaning the house while their spouse was at work. I could hear the wives loud and clear. They must have been upset. It was funny watching them apologize for not doing their domestic duties and saying yes dear. Right away dear. After they hung up, they nervously hung out a little longer, then scurried home. I also saw another guy, he looked like some retired government type of guy. You know the kind, young, but old. Like in his 50s but wth the Joe Biden thousand yard stare. He kept saying Hey You and people would look and he’d shake his head. And then complained there were too many people in his way to get food. A real odd guy. Kept muttering Hey, you. Hey, you.
HAHAHA
not sure who Blabington is but did he have a pulse ;)
Anonymous: Yes, there are at least one or two that do not like the food trucks concept and took that good news and made it into a personal attack vehicle against me. Miserable haters will always be around, there's no getting away from that. The one guy in particular--heck if I gave him today's winning lottery ticket he would snatch it from my hand angrily and say "you're a piece of garbage, Bergosh!" LOL. Guys like him, if I posted the cure for cancer here on this blog, they'd find a way to turn that into an ad hominem attack. Miserable, cynical, negative, and out of touch...There's one in every crowd and opinionated on every good idea--even the food trucks that are overwhelmingly successful here in Beulah this week. That's okay though, I know it is something the community has embraced based upon the tremendous positive response this initiative has received. And the truck operators keep running out of food, which tells the unbiased observer that yes, indeed, this was a great idea.
