DPZ is Dragging Navy Federal Credit Union's Reputation Through the Mud

NFCU is given the dubious distinction this week of "Loser" in INWEEKLY's wildly popular "Winners and Losers" feature.  A shame this had to happen.  It could have been EASILY avoided.....

One week ago today, late in the afternoon after work, I sent NFCU CEO and President Mary McDuffie a personalized email.  As a 40-year member of NFCU, as a strong supporter of NFCU's expansion in Pensacola, as a "right across the street" neighbor of their massively expanding GPO campus---I had concerns about issues here.

Four days later I received a response to my initial email to Ms. McDuffie.  The response was apparently assigned, written and sent back to me by a subordinate; it glossed over all of my concerns.  It was full of platitudes, short on substance.

One of the concerns I expressed was how NFCU was taking a reputation hit via some machinations by county consultant DPZ.  I offered suggestions to put things back on track--as after the email dump I received and lots of unflattering press that put NFCU in a poor light--I was hopeful that could be addressed.

I asked what it was/is that NFCU wanted to see us accomplish with the OLF-8 property?  Didn't get an answer.

Now, sadly, I see in the Pensacola area's largest circulation weekly print newspaper, the iNWEEKLY, NFCU has been given the dubious distinction this week of "Loser" in that publications popular "Winners and Losers" section yesterday. (p.4-5)

I hate to see this and the other unflattering news that is damaging to NFCU come out in the press--all due to these unflattering DPZ team emails and some other more significant issues with DPZ.

I'm a 40 year NFCU member.  I bank with them to this day.  I root for their success.

But the apparent tone-deaf response to these issues in general and to me particularly is surprisingly disappointing.

Maybe I'll send Mary a follow-up email late this afternoon....I wonder if it would simply, once again, just be delegated to a subordinate?

Did you see that PNJ let the idiot Marlette post about DeSantis? So is Quint Studer in charge of PNJ? Trying to make the connection...

Perhaps get FL west to pursue getting a brewery here. Miller brewery was a game changer in Albany Ga years ago.

Contact the Poarch creek Indians to invest--- save some acreage for barley, hops and even take in a marijuana grow..and that up and coming industry

Lay off the drama, if you can. Its dysfunction yet intriguing.

They (PNJ 2-person "crack" editorial squad) hate DeSantis, Gaetz, and most locally elected conservative officeholders. All others receive a pass from their scrutiny. But yes, it is obvious. to everyone. That is why they are such a compromised, marginalized, and non-trustworthy source for information. Look no further than today....they take shots at the vaccination program--insinuating it is racist, they take a shot at DeSantis, and they contribute, along with some others, to a third-party, ghost-written "Op-ed" from a downtown "citizen" that purports to illustrate the shortcomings of the County Commissioners. It's painfully obvious who really wrote that, painfully so. And it misses the target.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the citizens witness an institution like NFCU that does so much good work in the community get their reputation run through the mud by DPZ's ineptitude.

The only thing PNJ forgot to do was to do some sort of obligatory piece excoriating the board for the "mean" questions about NFCU's involvement in this DPZ scandal....Maybe that is coming next Sunday, LOL

Unfortunately many of the people ascribing to "woke" identity politics either don't know that it is communist propaganda or don't care..
I will try not to vent here too much but I came across yet another little communist spreading propaganda with their own interpretation of what is a fascist.

They don't know a damn thing about what it is like to live under a communist regime and they label Americans, who are patriotic, possibly religious and who prescribe to law and order as Nazi fascists. They don't seem to understand the constitution and equal protection UNDER THE LAW is freedom.

Schools teaching Critical race theory have contributed to this. Tired of the racists and a lot of it was coming from your own board last meeting. It is divisive. Everyone doesn't get a participation trophy.

People need to be self reliant and succeed based on efforts and merit.

It's a dog eat dog world, sink or swim. Did you see the creed they want the Navy to take? No-- we need a Naval war fighting machine not a bunch of warm and fuzzy pajama boys/girls..
UGH.

Skim PNJ to get a bit of local news but yes this exposes much...

If we have any young people here (or old) that think Stalin and communism is cool, maybe someone will show them this, or another Mini Series titled "Apocalypse Stalin".

Seriously a local f/b page now called What's Happening (Temporarily) Pensacola posts activities for the party for Socialism and Liberation and out right communist propaganda. They have a post admiring Stalin for murdering Nationalists (Ukrainian farmers who loved their country) Stalinists took their farms and starved them out.

The local f/b group originally know as Whats Happening Pensacola are the ones who went for the local republican at the stop the steal protest. Maybe that will come out in the trial during discovery. The counterprotester who got up in their face at protest publicly says she/he plans to sue.The racial grievance business must be lucrative. Hopefully he got the screen shots of who came on his page and can turn it around. Ask the cop -- who was the woman also there when they filed the police report? Get her on the stand. That group has been removed for the damage they were inflicting upon the area but they are reforming.

Can you imagine if a patriot had gone with cameras and painted over George Floyd's mug and had anyone arrested and subsequently sue for damages if anyone touched them..No..because most patriots are not of that mindset.

Notice they label anyone asking about election integrity as an insurrectionist, ignoring the four year long insurrection.

Despicable
God -- people are stupid or evil.

I went and read the opinion piece by Peacock on PNJ, he is on the DIB and UWF he quoted Mr. Studer and also where have I heard that "sense of place" before? Janice Gilley in a meeting with Mayor Robinson before all this COVID hit. She was connected with UWF. Not that is all a bad thing but one can see the collusion.

Ok, it does sound like Peacock is talking out of both sides of his mouth and babbling a bit. Isn't he one that pushed for consolidation? So he really made no point.
on one hand he says something negative about economic development then on the other that we should hold you accountable for economic development. OK

Get FLWEST to work on bring businesses to the area and don't let downtown put in more Southtown apartment to rent to people.

Take care of the people who already live here as in. JOBS on OLF 8 and the Bluffs.

If you build it they will eventually come but not if it full of Studerville apartment for more transplants.

I could have saved myself the few minutes, but I did check it out.

We voted for representatives-- it would seem if someone wanted a voice in the matter they would run for commissioner and win..Oh wait, you did :)

Notice suddenly they are interested in history after taking down the monument for reconciliation with the North after the war of Northern aggression, renaming Wentworth museum and taking away the much loved and cherished Pensacola City of Five Flags brand.

Look, they may have good ideas and money but we aren't all falling down over them.

Keep up trying to balance the budget. Many see it is a difficult task.
