Also on tap--a couple of disastrous ideas from downtown on bringing the city's homeless camp out of the city and into District 1------an idea I certainly do not support. It's an idea nobody I have spoken with in District 1 supports. It is a disastrous idea that I do not think will come to pass and for which I have posted a couple of Blog entries, here and here where I've proposed alternatives that are less burdensome on local neighborhoods.

Since Underhill didn't bother to show up for the first joint meeting and the map was finalized by both bodies -- he shouldn't be considered this late in the game. Both boards decided to get this done by the end of the year on the strident urging of the county attorney. If one board makes changes without the other it simply complicates the issue. Will they all be at the special meeting tomorrow? Why should anyone rearrange their schedules to suit Dildo Doug's fantasies and propaganda?
Will Underhill run back to farcebook and play victim and hope the dipshits feed his ego? Probably. Let's go Bergosh.
Also look on his commissioner page July 1st of his publicly issued statement that "he stands alone fighting against discretionary spending" (eyeroll) and BOCC use the funds he has left on the table to get the beach haven project over the line. It's a public record -- he can't delete it. From his fingers to God's ears. MP posted the screenshot. You all have it. It is a non issue and other grants do NOT need to be returned because of his petulance. You don't need another repeat of Oct 4 chaos sown by him.

It is a cross between a word people use of a body part to mean a not very nice acting man and then after acting that way, he claims he's a victim.
Actually, as the County Attorney advised the BCC on October 5, the redistricting effort once started in 2021 can, of course, be finished in 2022. The BCC was given a written memo that explained it though they never read anything before voting so I doubt they read it. Further, if the BCC screws the people over in December as it seems so hellbent to do, the new BCC can redo the district boundaries again in 2023, 2025, 2027 or 2029. Many of my friends in Beulah are outraged at the idea of being forced into a fake "community of interest" with Perdido Key. They already would like to see the districts redone again in 2023 to move Beulah into the same district with Molino. Make a lot of sense. There is no "legal" connection between the BCC and School Board redistricting efforts. They can be done independently. No one is going to be confused. Further, state law directs that School Board members "shall" represent the entire district no matter their method of election. BCC members never read the state laws or even the county code. As such, the talk about this or that School Board member representing certain specific schools is political gibberish. The proposed gerrymandering scheme very nakedly violates the Florida Constitution's requirement that election districts be contiguous. [David Stafford is not going down on this one.
That's why he keeps saying - "I am not an attorney."] Redacting all of the City of Gulf Breeze in Santa Rosa County from the BCC map does not make it just go away. Gulf Breeze still sits right in the middle of the current District 4 "North" and District 4 "South." In addition, if McMillan is gone, deliberate racial gerrymandering is no longer allowed. More Black voters even now live (55%) in Districts 1, 2, 4 and 5 than in District 3 (45%). This is all about keeping Lumon May in office so his construction company can get contracts because he is on the BCC. The BCC has been very clear that its primary goal is to gerrymander the districts to protect the incumbents. It is often done but here the BCC members and especially Bergosh have boldly announced what they are doing and why. Bergosh is the "Gerrmanderer-in-Chief" on this scandal and its pretty clear his goal is to manipulate the District 1 boundaries to best position himself for the 2024 election. One saving grace is that if "McMillan" is no more as the County Attorney says, then everyone in the county will now be able to vote in all county elections starting with those in 2022. Republicans only make of 44% of the county's voters. Imagine if in 2024 the county's 45,000 Black voters can all vote for or "against" White Republican Bergosh. Yikes! Given the extremist positions held by so many of the 15 BCC/School Board/ECUA incumbents, and their poor records (high crime, high taxes & fees, poor schools, governmental incompetence), I would hope that most of them get kicked out of office and especially if some solid Republicans run for office as Independent candidates. In District 1, any woman who does not wear a tin foil hat while blogging should be able to beat Bergosh in 2024.
BRAVO! If his redistricting plan passes Bergosh might as well not even run again.
These people on "We are Perdido" sure are selfish not wanting any of us cooler draggers on our Beach that FEMA money was used on post IVAN. Check out the inlet management plan on there plus Dougie poo must be sweating bullets. He has THREE town halls the next couple of weeks and his skinny guyfriend posting on WEAR facebook telling EVERYONE TO EMAIL COMMISSIONERS. HAHAHA You can tell that's DD on We are Perdido because he calls people hateful that disagree with him, or see through his deceit.
